2011 Awards

These prestigious Awards acknowledge, honour and generate public recongition of the outstanding positive contribution and achievements of North Queensland businesswomen over a diverse range of industries in our business community and the community at large. The 2011 awards recognise the continued successes and achievements of the nominees in 2011.

2011 Nominations

Entrants must be Australian citizens or have resident status and be living in North Queensland.

Nominations and entries are open to women in business (either an employer or an employee) within a 130km radius of Townsville: Lucinda in the north, west to Charters Towers; and to Home Hill in the south.

We encourage all business, career and people in the workforce to take this opportunity to nominate a business woman, female work colleague, and female business services provided who you believe epitomises an excellent role model, has exceptional business practices, and entrepreneurship in these Awards.

2011 Judging Panel

The distinguished Judging panel is totally independant of the Townsville Business Women's Network and are leaders in the regions business community.

2011 Meet the Finalist Cocktail Party

Nominees, guests, partners, sponsors and community leaders are Invited to a Meet the Finalist Cocktail function where the Head of the Judging Panel will announce the Finalist from the Entry received. The Meet the Finalist Cocktails will be held on Tuesday 29th May 2012.

2011 Gala Presentation Dinner

The North Qld Business Women Awards 2011 Gala Awards Presentation Evening will be held on 22nd June 2012.

Nth Qld Business Woman of the Year 2011

CRITERIA: The Nth Qld Business Woman of the Year will be selected from the Category Winners of

 

  • Nth Qld Female Business Owner Award 2011
  • Nth Qld Corporate Business Woman Award 2011
  • Nth Qld Female Business Partner Award 2011
  • Nth Qld Emerging Business Women 2011

This entrant will have demonstrated to the Judges an overall excellence in their business/career performance and will stand out from the others as the top role model for the current and next generation of business and career women to emulate.

They will have already won their nominated Category and be a worthy recipients of this most prestigious award.

Nth Qld Female Business Owner Award 2011

CRITERIA: Open to women

  • with a 100% share in a business and who have responsibility for key management decision-making;
  • who take an active part in the daily operation of the business;
  • whose business is a medium/large business operation that has been operating for over 3 years;
  • whose business has a Net Profit of at least $60,000 (including owner's salary/wages) and whose business has been in this position for at least 3 years; and
  • whose business employs two or more staff.
  • Applicants to be available & are required to attend the Important Dates for the Awards [Applicants information work-shop, Meet the finalists, Final Judging Interviews, and filming, Awards Gala Presentation Evening]

Nth Qld Corporate Business Woman Award 2011

CRITERIA: Open to women

  • who are employees in the private enterprise or the corporate or government sectors;
  • have held a management role within one of these sectors for at least 2 years; and
  • are responsible for a team of two or more people.

Nth Qld Female Business Partner Award 2011

CRITERIA: Open to women

  • who are a part-owner of a business such that she hold a key management position and is an integral part of the busi-ness on a daily basis;
  • whose business has a Net Profit of at least $60,000 (including owner's salary/wages) and whose business has been in this position for at least 3 years; and
  • whose business employs two or more staff.
  • Applicants to be available & are required to attend the Important Dates for the Awards [Applicants information work-shop, Meet the finalists, Final Judging Interviews, and filming, Awards Gala Presentation Evening]

Nth Qld Emerging Business Woman Award 2011

CRITERIA: Open to women

  • who have been operating their own business for less than 3 years; and
  • who take an active part in the daily operation of the business;
  • whose business has a Net Profit of at least $30,000 (including owner's salary/wages)
  • Applicants to be available & are required to attend the Important Dates for the Awards [Applicants information work-shop, Meet the finalists, Final Judging Interviews, and filming, Awards Gala Presentation Evening]

Judges Encouragement Award 2011

CRITERIA: Open to women

  • This award is open to all nominees who are financial members of the Townsville Business Woman’s Network Inc (at all times from the time of nominations to the announcing of the Awards);
  • and is determined by the Judges at their sole discretion.

Alison Wenck Memorial Nth Qld Community Leadership Award 2011

CRITERIA: Open to women

  • who are financial members of the Townsville Business Woman’s Network Inc (at all times from the time of nominations to the announcing of the Awards);
  • who are working full-time either in their own business or in a middle to senior managerial position in the private enterprise, corporate or government sector; and
  • who, in addition to working full-time, have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of others and institute positive changes in the Townsville Community.
  • and is determined by the Judges at their sole discretion
